Job Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Cook to join the Garrett Popcorn team. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing our signature popcorn recipes according to exact specifications, maintaining high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and quality. You’ll work behind the scenes in a fast-paced kitchen environment to ensure every batch meets our gold standard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handcraft Garrett Popcorn in small batches using proprietary cooking techniques and recipes.
- Monitor cooking times and ingredient measurements to ensure consistent product quality.
- Operate cooking kettles, mixers, and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Follow strict food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards at all times.
- Stock and rotate ingredients to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
- Clean and sanitize all kitchen tools, equipment, and cooking areas after use.
- Communicate with shop leadership regarding inventory needs or maintenance issues.
- Support the front-of-house team when needed to ensure seamless shop operations.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and team-oriented work environment.
Qualifications:
- At least 16 years of age.
- Food Handler’s Certificate is required.
- Prior experience in a kitchen, food production, or food service environment is a plus.
- Ability to follow precise recipes and procedures consistently.
- Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Punctual, dependable, and able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Strong work ethic and team-first attitude.
