Duties
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes and quality standards
- Assist in menu planning by providing input on dish preparation and presentation techniques
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering strictly to food safety standards in production
- Handle food with care, following proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and freshness
- Use knife skills effectively, including slicing techniques, to prepare meats, vegetables, and other ingredients
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food efficiently and accurately
- Serve dishes promptly while maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food industry setting, especially in kitchen roles or dietary departments
- Strong culinary experience with proficiency in food preparation, cooking, and food service operations
- Knowledge of safety standards in production environments and food safety management practices
- Familiarity with dietary aide responsibilities or dietary department experience is a plus
- Excellent knife skills and slicing techniques essential for efficient prep work
- Ability to work quickly under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
