American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an OR Float Pool position at a large Level I Trauma academic medical center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of OR experience with thoracic/vascular specialty and prior travel experience.

Large academic medical center with 1,000+ beds, housing a 56-bed OR (inpatient and outpatient) with 5 procedural rooms, designated as a Level I Trauma center

Assignment is within the OR Float Pool, with primary placement on the Thoracic/Vascular team

Adult patient population only; pediatric OR is a separate facility

Full range of case types including neuro, trauma, general, ortho, GYN, urology, ENT, plastics, cardiothoracic, vascular, transplant (liver, renal, pancreas), robotic, hybrid rooms (cysto, bronch, and lead extraction), ambulatory ortho, burn, and hepatic-biliary

Patient diagnoses include transplant and trauma/neuro cases

12-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, 9a–9p (days may vary based on unit need; block scheduling is not available)

Late stays required based on unit need

Floating between OR rooms within the same location is required

Active TN or Compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration

Current BLS certification required and must be on file at time of consideration

Any required specialty certifications must be current and on file at time of consideration

Minimum 2 years of OR experience required

Thoracic/vascular OR experience is required

Proficiency in endovascular cases required for thoracic/vascular team placement

Must be able to both circulate and scrub; scrub experience is required

Prior travel nursing experience required

Responsibilities include circulating and scrubbing across a broad range of surgical specialties, with a primary focus on thoracic and vascular cases

Endovascular case proficiency is essential for day-to-day functioning on the thoracic/vascular team

This is a high-acuity academic environment supporting complex surgical cases including transplant and trauma
