Duties
- Travel to patient locations such as homes, clinics, or community sites to perform blood draws and specimen collection.
- Collect blood samples using venipuncture techniques with skill and confidence, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Obtain vital signs and assess patient physiology to ensure proper sample collection procedures.
- Follow strict aseptic techniques and laboratory procedures to maintain sample integrity and prevent contamination.
- Label, process, and transport specimens accurately according to laboratory standards for timely analysis.
- Provide compassionate patient care by explaining procedures clearly, answering questions, and addressing concerns professionally.
- Maintain detailed documentation of all procedures performed, including patient information and sample details.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in laboratory procedures, especially venipuncture (blood sampling) and specimen collection.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques, medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology relevant to phlebotomy.
- Prior clinical laboratory experience or hospital setting exposure is highly desirable.
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically.
- Familiarity with hospital or healthcare environment protocols, including infection control and aseptic techniques.
- Ability to work independently while managing a flexible schedule across multiple locations.
- Valid certification in phlebotomy or related laboratory procedures is preferred; relevant training or coursework is a plus. Pay: $25.88 - $31.17 per hour
