Fern Creek Dentistry is looking for an organized, dependable, and meticulous individual to join our team as a Sterilization Technician.
The ideal candidate takes pride in keeping a clean, safe, and organized environment and is able to follow strict sterilization and infection-control protocols consistently.
Job Summary
The Sterilization Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean and safe environment in our dental office. This position is responsible for ensuring that all dental instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, disinfected, sterilized, and maintained to help prevent the spread of infection.
Responsibilities
- Clean, disinfect, and sterilize dental instruments and equipment according to established protocols
- Prepare treatment rooms by ensuring all surfaces are properly disinfected and stocked
- Maintain and organize sterilization supplies and inventory
- Ensure sterilization areas and equipment remain clean and organized
- Assist dental staff with instrument transfer during procedures when needed
- Follow all infection-control policies and procedures
- Monitor, maintain, and document sterilization logs
- Properly package, label, and store sterilized instruments
- Communicate with the dental team regarding instrument and supply needs
Qualifications & Experience
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to follow strict protocols and procedures
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy
- Understanding of aseptic technique and proper instrument handling
- Familiarity with dental terminology and procedures
- Basic knowledge of workplace and infection-control safety protocols
- Previous dental sterilization or dental assisting experience is preferred
- Reliable, responsible, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
