Job Summary:
The Janitor/Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment in assigned facilities. This role performs routine cleaning, sanitation, and basic maintenance tasks to ensure a high standard of cleanliness for employees, clients, and visitors. This role ensures the cleanliness of facilities/assigned work areas, quality (appearance and regarded standards), and assists in the safety and production of work.
Key Responsibilities:
Cleaning & Sanitation
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and scrub floors
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and common areas
- Empty trash and recycling containers and dispose of waste properly
- Dust and wipe down surfaces, furniture, fixtures, and equipment
- Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces
Facility Upkeep
- Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper
- Report maintenance issues (e.g., leaks, damages, safety hazards)
- Perform minor maintenance tasks (e.g., changing light bulbs)
- Set up and break down rooms for meetings or events as needed
Safety & Compliance
- Follow proper cleaning procedures and safety guidelines
- Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and according to instructions
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Maintain awareness of workplace safety hazards and report incidents
Equipment Handling
- Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, buffers, and floor scrubbers
- Maintain and properly store tools and equipment

Requirements/Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not always required)
- 1+ years of janitorial or custodial experience is a plus
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions
- Basic knowledge of cleaning products and equipment
- Physical ability to lift, bend, stand, and walk for extended periods and may lift up to 50 pounds
Work Environment:
- Ability to walk, lift, stand, stoop, and bend
- Frequent exposure to light, various climates and weather conditions
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals
- Exposure to biohazardous materials, wet/slippery floors, and sometimes sharp/broken objects
SHIFT(S): M-F, Weekends (Sat & Sun)
- 7:00AM - 3:00PM (Must be Flexible)
- 3:00PM - 11:00PM (Must be Flexible)
OTHER:
*Must have reliable transportation*
