Job Title: Youth Mentor
About Us
At Cascade Lodge, a residential treatment center, we help adolescent boys struggling with severe anxiety embrace life with courage and joy. We work with boys ages 13–18 as they achieve their goals and learn how to move through the challenges of debilitating anxiety.
We are looking for passionate mentors to serve as members of the treatment team. Mentors have opportunities to assist male students in the following programming:
- Recreation Therapy (downhill skiing/snowboarding, horseback riding, rock climbing, mountain biking)
- Life-skills groups
- Group therapy with licensed therapists
- Daily life coaching
- Attend leadership adventure & service trip to Guatemala
- Teaching coping skills, social skills, and supporting executive functioning
Mentors guide male students according to treatment plan instructions as well as acting as role models of healthy behaviors.

Responsibilities of a Mentor include the following:
- Maintain a safe environment for male students.
- Provide supervision and support for male students throughout their day as they complete group therapy, recreation therapy, tasks of daily living, and school programs.
- Give feedback to the treatment team about male students’ behaviors.
- Demonstrate professionalism, strong decision-making skills, and an ability to communicate effectively.
- Lead skills-based groups for male students and document accordingly.
- Participate in activities with male students within the Lodge campus and in the local community.
- Participate in specialized trainings relating to anxiety and OCD.
Qualifications
- Must be 20 years of age.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
- Experience with adolescent age group preferred.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent; Bachelor’s preferred.
- Must demonstrate experience in working as a team.
- Valid Driver’s License.
