POSITION SUMMARY
The Quality Inspector for Titan Advanced Manufacturing is responsible for performing dimensional, visual, and documentation-based inspections throughout the manufacturing process. This position ensures incoming materials, in-process components, and finished goods meet engineering specifications, customer requirements, and AS9100/ITAR quality standards.
This role supports root-cause analysis, documentation accuracy, nonconforming product control, corrective action efforts, and continuous improvement across Titan Advanced Manufacturing.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Incoming, In-Process, and Final Inspection: Inspect incoming materials, in-process components, and finished goods to verify conformance to drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
Documentation and Traceability: Maintain accurate inspection results, ERP entries, NCRs, inspection logs, traceability records, and calibration documentation.
Nonconformance and Quality Support: Quarantine, tag, and process nonconforming material while supporting root-cause analysis, CAPA, and issue resolution.
Measurement Equipment Care: Use and maintain precision measurement equipment in accordance with operational instructions and calibration requirements.
Safety, Compliance, and Communication: Follow Titan safety standards, PPE requirements, AS9100/ITAR regulations, and communicate professionally with cross-functional teams.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Incoming, In-Process, and Final Inspection
- Inspect and approve incoming materials through visual, dimensional, and documentation checks.
- Conduct in-process inspections to verify conformance to engineering specifications, work instructions, and customer requirements.
- Approve finished components by confirming specifications, conducting required measurement tests, and verifying any rework.
- Quarantine, tag, and process nonconforming materials or parts in accordance with quality procedures.
Documentation and Reporting
- Record inspection results accurately within reports, job records, and ERP systems.
- Create Nonconforming Product Reports (NCRs) as needed and maintain clear supporting documentation.
- Maintain traceability records, inspection logs, calibration documentation, and other quality records.
- Review documentation for completeness and accuracy before releasing or escalating inspected parts.
Root Cause and Quality Support
- Assist in determining causes of defects, deviations, scrap, and rework.
- Participate in corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes as assigned.
- Collaborate with Production and Engineering to communicate quality issues and support timely resolution.
Measurement Equipment Care
- Use precision instruments including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, pins, CMM, and optical comparator, as applicable.
- Maintain measurement equipment by following operational instructions, handling requirements, and calibration expectations.
- Identify and report damaged, out-of-calibration, or questionable measuring tools promptly.
- Provide thoughtful, solution-oriented feedback to operators while maintaining professionalism and accuracy.
Safety, Compliance, and Other Duties
- Maintain a safe and healthy inspection environment by following Titan safety standards and AS9100/ITAR regulations.
- Comply with all PPE, hazard controls, quality system requirements, and ITAR-access restrictions.
- Perform other quality-related tasks as assigned to support production, customer, and quality objectives.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree preferred.
- 1-2 years of CMM experience required.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, inspection plans, and GD&T requirements.
- Intermediate math skills, including fractions, decimals, conversions, and tolerancing.
- Experience using gauges, calipers, pins, micrometers, height gauges, comparators, and related measuring devices.
- Basic ERP and computer proficiency with strong attention to detail, analytical ability, communication, and teamwork skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in an aerospace, defense, machining, AS9100, ITAR, ISO, or quality-controlled manufacturing environment.
- Prior experience with incoming, in-process, final inspection, NCR documentation, and traceability records.
- Experience supporting root-cause analysis, corrective actions, preventive actions, or continuous improvement activities.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and clear communication.
- Familiarity with precision machined components, customer specifications, and manufacturing documentation.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Work is performed in a manufacturing and quality inspection environment with exposure to machining noise, coolant, water, metals, adhesives, lubricants, production smells, and industrial equipment.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, grip, lift, carry, and perform repetitive hand and arm movements for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, with or without assistance, and follow safe lifting practices.
- Must be able to wear required PPE and safely handle parts and materials with sharp edges or heavy components.
