SUMMARY:
Provides highly technical mechanical repair skills to ensure the installation and maintenance of the various mechanical equipment devices required to operate in factories, power plants, construction sites, water and/or wastewater facilities and sanitary storm sewer systems including lift stations. Maintain manual and/or computerized work orders and records as directed. Must comply with all safety procedures and be knowledgeable in environmental regulations as it impacts the facilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Replace defective parts of machine or adjust clearances and alignment of moving parts.
- Align machines and equipment, using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb bobs and precision levels.
- Repair and lubricate machines and equipment.
- Assemble and install equipment, using hand tools and power tools
- Insert shims, adjust tension on nuts and bolts, or position parts, using hand tools and measuring instruments, to set specified clearances between moving and stationary parts
- Move machinery and equipment, using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
- Attach moving parts and sub-assemblies to basic assembly unit, using hand tools and power tools.
- Assemble machines, and bolt, weld, or otherwise fasten them to foundation or other structures, using hand tools and power tools.
- Lay out mounting holes, using measuring instruments, and drill holes with power drill.
- Bolt parts and journals, to basic assembly unit.
- Level bedplate and establish centerline, using straightedge, levels, and transit.
- Shrink-fit bushings, sleeves, rings, liners, gears
- Perform related duties as required
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EQUIPMENT & OTHER:
- 5 years experience in an industrial environment with minimum 2 years of related education at a college or technical training school.
