Job Title: Shipping Lead
Location: Florestone – Madera, California
Department: Shipping / Warehouse
Reports To: Shipping Manager
Pay Range: $20.00 – $22.00 per hour (Hourly)
Position Summary
Florestone is seeking a dependable and organized Shipping Lead to support the daily operations of our shipping department at our Madera, California facility. This position works closely with the Shipping Manager to coordinate shipments, guide shipping personnel, and ensure products are accurately prepared and shipped on time.
The Shipping Lead serves as a working leader on the floor, helping maintain workflow, accuracy, safety, and communication within the shipping team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Shipping Manager with coordinating daily shipping activities and priorities
- Lead and support shipping team members during daily operations
- Verify orders, product quantities, and shipping documentation for accuracy
- Ensure products are properly packaged, labeled, and prepared for shipment
- Coordinate with production, scheduling, and customer service to meet shipping deadlines
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks using forklifts or other material handling equipment
- Monitor staging areas to ensure orders are organized and ready for shipment
- Help train new shipping employees on processes, procedures, and safety expectations
- Maintain shipping records and assist with documentation such as bills of lading and packing lists
- Ensure work areas remain clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
- Identify and report shipping errors, damages, or inventory discrepancies
- Support cycle counting and inventory accuracy within the shipping area when needed
- Other duties as assigned by the shipping or plant manager
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 2+ years of experience in shipping, warehouse, or logistics operations
- Prior experience leading or mentoring team members preferred
- Forklift experience preferred (or willingness to obtain certification)
- Basic computer skills for shipping systems, documentation, and email communication
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to bend, reach, and move materials throughout the facility
- Ability to work in a manufacturing and warehouse environment
Pay Transparency (California)
The hourly pay range for this position is $20.00 – $22.00 per hour. The final rate offered will depend on factors such as relevant experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
