We are seeking an experienced Sterile/IV-certified Compounding Pharmacy Technician to join our Northbrook, Illinois team and support our expansion into advanced sterile compounding and IV formulations.
Position Overview
The IV Certified Compounding Technician will assist in preparing sterile and non-sterile compounded medications, including injectables, peptides, and IV formulations, in accordance with USP <797> and <800> standards. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and commitment to maintaining a sterile and compliant environment.
You’ll collaborate closely with pharmacists and the operations team to support production schedules, quality control, and order fulfillment in a fast-paced, patient-centered compounding pharmacy.
Key Responsibilities
- Compound sterile and non-sterile medications following USP <795>, <797>, and <800> guidelines.
- Perform aseptic technique in cleanroom environments.
- Prepare injectables with accuracy and compliance.
- Conduct batch documentation, labeling, and compounding logs.
- Assist with environmental monitoring, inventory management, and equipment maintenance.
- Ensure cleanroom compliance and assist with routine certification preparations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives for workflow and safety.
- Maintain compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations.
Qualifications
- Active Pharmacy Technician License (Illinois Board of Pharmacy, in good standing).
- IV Certification, preferred
- Required minimum 2 years of sterile compounding experience (503A or 503B environment preferred).
- Strong knowledge of USP <795>, <797> and <800> compliance requirements.
- High attention to detail, organization, and documentation accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in electronic compounding software and batch record systems preferred.
