Responsibilities
- Prepare individual, corporate, partnership, and estate tax returns with precision and attention to detail
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws, including tax reporting requirements
- Conduct thorough review of financial documents such as balance sheets, income statements, and general ledger entries
- Assist clients with tax planning strategies, including estate planning, mergers & acquisitions, and regulatory compliance accounting
- Perform account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and audit support to uphold accuracy in financial records
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms for bookkeeping and financial analysis
- Communicate effectively with clients to explain complex tax concepts, answer inquiries, and provide guidance on tax law changes
Requirements
- Proven experience in accounting and finance with a focus on tax preparation and compliance
- Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and regulatory reporting standards
- Familiarity with technical accounting practices including double entry bookkeeping and financial statement preparation
- Expertise in individual tax return preparation, corporate tax law, and tax reporting processes
- Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar tools for bookkeeping and financial analysis
- Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret financial reports and conduct account analysis
- Effective client communication skills to explain complex financial concepts clearly and professionally
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; professional certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) are preferred
