Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Receiving Lead to oversee the inbound logistics operations within a distribution center. This pivotal role involves managing the receipt, inspection, and proper storage of incoming goods, ensuring seamless coordination with warehouse teams and transportation providers. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, a comprehensive understanding of warehouse distribution processes, and a commitment to process improvement. As a Receiving Lead, you will play a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy, optimizing warehouse operations, and fostering a safe and efficient work environment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily receiving activities, including unloading shipments, verifying delivery documentation, and inspecting incoming goods for quality and accuracy.
- Coordinate with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate receipt of materials.
- Utilize inventory management systems and warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inbound shipments and update inventory records accurately.
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklift, Cherry Picker, Reach truck, Clamp and RF scanners safely to facilitate efficient material movement.
- Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance receiving workflows, reduce errors, and increase overall warehouse productivity.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and safety protocols during all receiving operations.
- Manage assign tasks, provide training on warehouse procedures, and communicate expectations clearly to team members.
- Monday-Friday 9:30am-6:00pm, open to working on Sundays when needed
Skills
- At least 1 year in a Leadership Role
- Must be Bilingual (English & Spanish)
- Extensive experience in warehouse distribution, logistics, or distribution center operations.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanner technology for real-time inventory updates.
- Demonstrated ability to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and other heavy lifting machinery safely.
- Excellent team management skills with the ability to lead, motivate, and develop warehouse staff effectively.
- Effective managerial communication skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Knowledge of receiving procedures
