We have an immediate opening in the Accounting Department for a Full-Time entry-level Accounting Clerk in our Main Office. The incumbent will provide support to the Accounting/Finance department staff and be responsible for a variety of daily and weekly tasks, with potential to include future month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial reporting responsibilities. This position is ideal for the individual who is a critical thinker, enjoys problem solving, possesses excellent organizational skills, is detail oriented, completes their work with a high level of accuracy, and exhibits excellent communication skills.
The hours are 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Completes reconcilement of general ledger accounts, correspondent bank accounts and internal bank accounts.
- Processes accounts payable, bank expenses and preparation of applicable general ledger entries, via the accounts payable system. Submits reports to the management teams as required.
- Knowledge of payment processes used for invoice payments: Wire, ACH, Credit Card and Checks.
- Reviews billing statements, invoices, and similar documents for accuracy and contract limitations; alerts supervisory staff of any discrepancies. Communicate with vendor for details regarding account, vendor status and terms.
- Imaging of all accounts payable transactions, correspondent balancing, and all other pertinent documentation per the Bank’s retention procedures.
- May assist with mail distribution, answering telephones, and other clerical tasks as needed.
- Ability to resolve difficult problems, with accuracy, through knowledge of bank systems and procedures, as they relate to Accounting Department and other areas of the bank
- Ability to identify and prioritize multiple projects/tasks in fast paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Accurately and efficiently enter data into computer software
- Proficient Adding machine skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with various functional areas
- Must maintain a dependable record of attendance and timelines
- Ability to work independently, be self-motivated and work effectively as part of team
- Proficient knowledge of PC software applications (i.e., Word, Excel, Access and Outlook) and highly proficient with Microsoft Excel and Adobe
- Must display honesty, integrity and professionalism at all times
- Comply with all Information Security and Cybersecurity related policy and procedure.

Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior Clerical/Office experience desirable
- 1 year Accounting/Bookkeeping experience preferred
