Responsibilities
- Key Responsibility for this hire will be to continually put priced items out onto the sales floor all day long. When pricer's have carts or racks of items priced, this hire will take it and put it out on the sales floor.
- Operate POS systems efficiently to process sales, returns, and exchanges accurately while handling cash, credit cards, and other payment methods.
- Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and guiding them through product features or demos.
- Assist with merchandising tasks such as stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented to maximize sales.
- Support upselling initiatives by recommending additional products or promotions to enhance customer satisfaction and increase store revenue.
- Maintain phone etiquette when answering inquiries or providing information over the phone, ensuring clear communication at all times.
- Manage cash float responsibly by counting cash at the beginning and end of shifts, reconciling discrepancies promptly.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations and provide coverage during busy periods or breaks.
Experience
- Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus, enabling effective communication with a diverse customer base.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience is advantageous for those interested in future leadership opportunities within the team.
- Strong communication skills combined with excellent phone etiquette are essential for engaging customers professionally.
- Basic math skills are necessary for accurate cash handling and transaction processing.
- Experience with POS systems and retail math will help ensure efficiency during peak hours.
