Position Summary:
We are a Franklin, TN based healthcare company seeking an Insurance Payment Poster/AR Specialist to support Revenue Cycle operations. This position will be responsible for the accurate posting of all the revenue generated by the billing department and front offices to the patient accounts in a timely manner to reduce days outstanding in AR.
Essential functions:
· Post all payments and adjustments: ensures all payments and adjustments are balanced on a daily bases.
· Close all balanced batches daily or by end of week.
· Review manual and electronic explanation of benefits to assure proper posting.
· Monitor insurance denials by running reports and contacting insurance companies to resolve and recover denied claims.
· Monitors aging reports for timely follow-up on unpaid claims.
· Perform any other functions as required by management.
Skills and Qualifications Required for this position:
- Strong analytical skills with an ability to analyze and make actionable decisions from data
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong ability to prioritize tasks
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in healthcare revenue cycle organizations and billing systems preferred
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Access, Word, Excel, Outlook, and demonstrated ability to learn new accounting and billing software systems
