JOB OVERVIEW
Kitchen Sync is looking for a hands-on, hardworking Kitchen Manager. The KM will be responsible for supervising all kitchen operations, staffing, training, food ordering, prep and production, quality control, safety & sanitation, cleanliness and kitchen/equipment upkeep. We have an excellent dedicated well-staffed kitchen. We are looking for a team leader who can embrace the KS mission and values and to assist taking our kitchen operations, personal and professional growth of the crew & menu to the next level.
QUALITIES, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
- Demonstrable depth of cooking skills and culinary knowledge.
- Minimum of 5 years restaurant specific kitchen experience and a minimum of two years in management/leadership capacity
- Strong culinary skills and knowledge of diverse cuisines, cooking techniques, and flavor profiles.
- Working knowledge of pizza, baking and desserts preferred
- Hospitality and service oriented
- Systems and detail oriented. Efficiency and cleanliness priorities
- Familiarity with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive) or similar cloud platforms beneficial
- Creative problem solver. Flexible and resilient with excellent communication skills
- Strong working knowledge of profit and loss, prime costs (food & labor), and Microsoft Office
- Authenticity, professionalism and the ability to thrive in high volume environment
- Deep knowledge of sanitation protocol. Serve Safe Managerial certification/update within 60 days of hire.
- Working knowledge of front of house operations and possess customer service skills

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- 50-55 hour work week (Must have schedule flexibility, including nights, weekends and holidays as needed)
- Responsible for training, coaching, scheduling and managing kitchen personnel according to developed KS SOP’s (standard operating procedures)
- Update and maintain SOP manuals and systems in consultation with company chef and GM as necessary
- Must learn and be able to work proficiently every position on the line.
- Must learn all KS flavor profiles and be able to replicate/produce and train scratch recipes
- Work with company Chef developing and implementing new menu items
- Kitchen inventory management and all kitchen ordering/procuring
- Ensure adequate staffing for every shift, working cook line and or prep shifts as necessary to ensure seamless guest service and maintain quality standards
- Meet Prime Cost (food & labor) goals and work to minimize all budget costs while maintaining quality, cleanliness, safety and sanitation.
- Perform administrative duties as required
- Full responsibility for safety & sanitation in all kitchen operations
- Stay current on and train/maintain kitchen staff and facility compliance with all DHEC rules and regulations
- Responsible for knowing, training, and enforcing compliance of Kitchen Sync policies and procedures in accordance with employee handbook
- Improve and maintain efficiency and cleanliness in station operations and prep procedures
- cleaning and maintenance schedules
- Conduct daily pre-shift team meetings, participate in weekly leadership team meetings, hold periodic kitchen staff meetings and participate in full team meetings as necessary.
- Work with front of the house managers and Gm/owner to ensure highest quality guest experience
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
