Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse for our Operating Room team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a Level II trauma center and possess a strong background in various surgical procedures, including ophthalmology. This role requires a commitment to providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, ensuring the safety and comfort of patients undergoing surgical procedures. The OR Circulator Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for the safe, efficient, and compassionate care of patients undergoing surgical procedures within The Laser Surgery Center (TLSC). The RN serves as the patient advocate throughout the perioperative process, coordinating care among the surgical team and ensuring compliance with AORN standards, infection prevention protocols, and ASC regulatory requirements. The role requires clinical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to anticipate and respond to the needs of both patients and surgical staff.
Key Responsibilities:

- Provide direct patient care in the Operating Room, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and standards.
- Assist in preparing the operating room for surgical procedures, including the setup of instruments and equipment.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and manage their airway during surgery.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Perform venipuncture and other necessary procedures as required.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and surgical procedures.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices in surgical nursing.
- Support patients through pre-operative and post-operative care, including education on recovery processes.
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives within the operating room setting.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Previous experience in an Operating Room setting is preferred; familiarity with internal medicine and assisted living environments is a plus.
- Proficiency in coding related to surgical procedures is beneficial.
- Knowledge of esthetic laser treatment techniques is an advantage.
- Strong skills in airway management are required for this position.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to handle high-stress situations effectively while maintaining professionalism and compassion towards patients.
- Must pass a background check for employment at an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) in the state of Texas.
