Structural Steel Fitter

Extreme Steel, Inc. is a growing AISC-certified structural steel and miscellaneous metals fabricator and erector serving the DC, Virginia, and Maryland areas. We are looking for motivated, dependable individuals to join our team as Structural Steel Fitters.
What You'll Do
- Measure, lay out, align, and fit structural steel components according to blueprints and shop drawings.
- Prepare steel for welding using grinders and other fabrication tools.
- Weld components in accordance with blueprints and project specifications.
- Clean and finish metal work by removing slag, weld spatter, and excess material.
- Verify measurements and ensure proper fit-up before welding.
- Assist with general fabrication and shop operations as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of structural steel fitting or fabrication experience.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
- Experience using grinders and other fabrication tools.
- Welding experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Schedule:
- First Shift: Monday – Friday | 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- Second Shift: Monday – Friday | 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM
- Overtime and Saturdays may be required based on production needs.
