Job Title: Facilities Technician/HVACJob Description
As a Facilities Technician/HVAC Tech, you will collaborate with the service team to load and unload equipment, perform basic preventative maintenance, and execute minor repairs. Your role is crucial in maintaining equipment efficiency and minimizing downtime.
Responsibilities-
Train with the service team to understand equipment handling.

Perform basic preventative maintenance on HVAC and power equipment.

Execute minor repairs in a safe and effective manner.

Maintain and repair Power/HVAC/Compressor/Pump equipment and accessories.

Operate and understand generators, power distribution, A/C, Heater, HVAC, and Diesel driven Pumps.

Work in a mechanic/service shop and yard environment.

Perform maintenance on industrial scale HVAC units, generators, power supply systems, and pumps.
Essential Skills-
1-3 years of experience in repairing and maintaining Power/HVAC/Compressor/Pump equipment.

Basic knowledge of diesel equipment, electronics, and hydraulics.

Operational process/system aptitude.

Physical ability to bend, squat, crouch, reach, and lift 25 pounds or more.
Additional Skills & Qualifications-
EPA Universal certification is a significant advantage.

Recent graduates from trade school programs (HVAC, Building & Construction, Electrical, Mechanic).

Experience as a helper or apprentice in the service/trades industry (HVAC, electrical, automotive, mechanical).

Ability to gain access to Newport News shipyard.

Work Environment
Begin your career working in the shop at the Virginia Beach location, with eventual assignments at the Newport News Shipyard to help maintain rental HVAC equipment. Training is scheduled from 7am to 4pm, Monday to Friday, with subsequent schedules at the Newport News Shipyard from 6am to 3pm, Monday to Friday. The New Service Team Yard schedule consists of 12-hour shifts, 4 days on and 3 days off, requiring flexibility for day or night crew assignments.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
