In this role, you will provide direct patient care to individuals struggling with substance abuse and addiction. Assist physicians in developing treatment plans, perform patient assessments, monitor a patient's progress and administer medications. You will also document any noticeable changes to patient behavior or health. Applicants should have a valid RN license and some specialized education or experience working with behavioral health patients.

- Continually assess and address client needs
- Be accountable for the delivery of coordinated, safe, compassionate, therapeutic, evidence-based quality care to patients
- Educate client(s) about medications and self-administration procedures.
- Patient care when in charge
- Promote teamwork with physicians and personnel of other departments
- Establish and implement individualized nursing care plans for each patient through assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation
- Treat information regarding patients, employees, and authorized entity information as confidential
- Gauging patients' psychiatric states.
- Administering psychotropic and similar medications.
- Remove potentially harmful and triggering environmental features.
- Maintaining knowledge regarding new drugs and substance abuse
- Develop, update and coordinate the patient’s plan of care to achieve patient goals
- Assisting patients to become independent and meet their personal goals
Psychiatric Nurse Requirements:
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in nursing, where the latter is preferred.
- KY State licensure.
- 1 year of previous Behavioral Health care experience preferred
- Receipt of BLS training.
- Maintain the delivery of quality patient care with a specialty in the area of addiction
- Well-honed triaging, diagnostic, and clinical judgment capacities.
- Perform patient assessments, develop patients care plans, evaluate patients care plans’ effectiveness, modify as appropriate, and document all patient care as appropriate
- Superb interpersonal and collaboration abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Resilience, immense empathy, and resolution.
