American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry Overflow night shift position in Hickory, NC, requiring a minimum of 2 years of cardiac nursing experience and active BLS and ACLS certifications.

Telemetry unit in a 294-bed, Joint Commission Accredited hospital
-
24-bed unit serving a generalized cardiac patient population ranging from young adults to elderly adults
-
Common diagnoses and treatments include chest pain, A-fib, CHF, pre- and post-care for cardiac caths (groin and radial), and VATS
-
Patient ratio of 4:1
-
Equipment used includes LifePak, Zoll, and Masimo monitors
-
Cerner EMR used; experience preferred
-
Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
-
Every other weekend required
-
May occasionally float to IMCU, NPCU, and/or Surgical
-
No call requirements
-
13-week contract
-
Active RN license in NC or a Compact state currently in hand

Current AHA certifications: BLS and ACLS required

Minimum 2 years of telemetry or cardiac nursing experience

Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher required

Proficiency with LifePak, Zoll, and Masimo equipment required

Cerner EMR experience preferred

Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration

Candidate's permanent address must be 60 or more miles from the facility to qualify for the travel rate

Must not have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months

Cannot be employed full-time elsewhere

This position is located in Hickory, NC, approximately 1 hour from Charlotte and within driving distance of several major universities including Duke, NC State, UNC Chapel Hill, and East Carolina University
