Responsibilities
- Supervise children during before- and after-school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities that promote social skills, creativity, and physical activity
- Implement behavior management strategies to maintain a positive and respectful environment
- Assist with homework support and educational activities aligned with developmental needs
- Maintain clear communication with parents, guardians, and school staff regarding children’s progress and concerns
- Follow all safety protocols including first aid procedures, CPR, AED operation, and emergency response plans
- Support outdoor work activities such as playground supervision and outdoor games to encourage active play
Skills
- Strong classroom management skills to foster a disciplined yet fun environment
- Experience working with children in educational or recreational settings, including camp or youth programs
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management techniques
- Certification in first aid, CPR, AED operation, and familiarity with first aid protocols
- Ability to lead youth group activities and facilitate team-building exercises
- Experience with special education needs or working with children requiring additional support is a plus
- Excellent child supervision skills combined with patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
- Background in teaching or youth development programs enhances your ability to engage children effectively
- Outdoor work experience for supervising outdoor activities safely and confidently
- Creative theater or arts experience can be an asset for leading expressive activities
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while demonstrating leadership qualities
