Fowler Laundry Services provides commercial and industrial laundry solutions to a wide array of clients. We're looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support the day-to-day financial operations of a growing, fast-paced service business.
Position Summary
The Staff Accountant will support core accounting functions including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, and month-end close. This role is critical to maintaining accurate financial records across multiple locations/routes and ensuring the business has timely, reliable financial information for decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries and maintain the general ledger in accordance with GAAP
- Perform monthly bank, credit card, and balance sheet account reconciliations
- Support accounts payable: process vendor invoices, verify coding, and manage payment runs
- Support accounts receivable: apply customer payments, monitor aging, and assist with collections follow-up
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including accruals and prepaid schedules
- Track and reconcile fixed assets, depreciation schedules, and equipment/route-level costs
- Assist with payroll journal entries and reconciliation between payroll system and GL
- Prepare supporting schedules and workpapers for internal management reporting and external audits
- Monitor and reconcile inventory/linen or supply costs, if applicable to route/plant operations
- Assist with sales tax filings and other regulatory/compliance reporting
- Identify and help resolve discrepancies in financial data
- Support process improvements and documentation of accounting procedures
- Perform other accounting duties and ad hoc analysis as assigned
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 1–3 years of accounting experience (staff accountant, accounting associate, or similar role)
- Solid understanding of GAAP and double-entry accounting principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas)
- Experience with accounting software (especially NetSuite)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred:
- Experience in a service-based, route-based, or multi-location business (laundry, linen, distribution, logistics)
- Exposure to cost accounting or job/route-level profitability analysis
- CPA track or progress toward CPA/CMA certification
- Experience with sales tax filings

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
