The Assistant Director of Nursing is responsible for oversight of the daily operations of the nursing department at the Shoreham ICF to ensure that each person supported receives the necessary care and services to attain or maintain the highest possible well-being in accordance with our mission statement. They will foster high standards of care in accordance with OPWDD and DOH regulations.

In this role, you will:
- Provide leadership and direct supervision to nursing management staff, including performance evaluations, staffing oversight, retention initiatives, and ensuring compliance with OPWDD and DOH regulations.
- Ensure adequate nursing coverage and maintain effective recruitment, hiring, scheduling, and 24/7 on-call systems to support quality care delivery.
- Develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and corrective action plans to promote continuity of care, regulatory compliance, fiscal responsibility, and high standards of clinical practice.
- Collaborate with medical providers, hospitals, pharmacies, and internal committees to evaluate and improve healthcare services, medical systems, and interdisciplinary coordination.
- Oversee medical records management, clinical documentation practices, and communication with individuals receiving services and their families regarding healthcare concerns and treatment planning.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive work environment while ensuring adherence to workplace safety standards, diversity initiatives, and organizational policies.
We require:
- NYS Registered Nurse License
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree
- Qualified and Valid NYS Driver’s License
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in clinical nursing working with the I/DD population (2 years of which are in a supervisory capacity, preferred).
