Lot Salesman
8 hour shifts, Monday through Saturday
$13.00-18.00/hour based on prior experience
Description:
Lot Salesmen are the backbone of the lot handling all livestock equipment, trailer loading and unloading, as well as assisting customers. Initiates outstanding sales and service, maintains exceptional lot appearance and cleanliness. Assists all customers by providing knowledge of livestock equipment. Creates and supports a teamwork environment. This is primarily an outdoor position.
Key areas of responsibility:
- Meet and greet each customer
- Consistent quality customer service ensuring a successful shopping experience
- Freight stocking
- Unloading and loading trailers
- Upkeep and organization of department including recovery
- Product knowledge and experience is critical to the success of this role
- Self-training assessment and evaluations
- Other duties as needed
- Creates and maintains a safe environment for customers and employees
Skill Set Requirements:
- Strong communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Experience driving/operating equipment such as forklift, skid steer, or a tractor
- Excel in fast-paced and evolving environment
- Familiar with standard concepts and practices in retail
- Requires experience and knowledge of livestock equipment
- Professional use of radio/phone
- Dependability and respect for schedule and co-workers
Physical Demands:
- Standing for long periods of time
- Heavy and repetitive lifting
- Being outside in different weather conditions
- Driving machinery (forklift, truck and trailer)
