Job Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and dignity.
- Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems.
- Support patient transfer methods utilizing equipment like Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques to ensure safety for both patients and staff.
- Administer medication under supervision in accordance with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards.
- Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, including memory care strategies and behavioral support.
- Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, phlebotomy preparation, and basic aseptic techniques in clinical settings like outpatient clinics or hospital units.
- Maintain patient confidentiality by adhering to HIPAA guidelines and ensuring accurate medical records management.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams in environments ranging from ICU to hospice care to deliver comprehensive patient service.
- Support emergency response efforts by performing CPR or basic life support when necessary and following safe lifting practices during patient transfers.
- Engage in ongoing caregiving education related to geriatrics, pediatric care, infectious disease management, and trauma center protocols to enhance clinical competence.
Experience
- Prior experience working as a CNA or in similar caregiving roles within long-term care facilities, hospitals, assisted living communities or home health environments is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatric patients, individuals with developmental disabilities or those requiring memory care is advantageous.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to medical-surgical nursing, ICU procedures, emergency medicine, and post-acute care practices is beneficial.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR is required; additional certifications like phlebotomy or DME (Durable Medical Equipment) training are a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining proper body mechanics during patient handling tasks.
- Strong communication skills for effective caregiver-patient interactions and team collaboration in high-pressure settings such as trauma centers or urgent care clinics.

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
