About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on, meticulous, and proactive Financial Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting, US tax compliance, and financial operations for our North American entity. Reporting directly to [Hiring Manager Title, e.g., Head of Finance / US General Manager], this is a core individual contributor role responsible for full-cycle accounting, external audit coordination, and serving as a key finance liaison for local business partners and cross-border teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Full-Cycle Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations for US entities, including AP/AR, GL, bank reconciliations, payroll processing, and month-end/year-end closing.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) in compliance with US GAAP.
- Maintain treasury operations, track daily cash flow, and manage vendor payments.
2. Tax Compliance & Audit Coordination
- Handle routine local and state tax filings (e.g., California Sales Tax, Franchise Tax) and coordinate with external CPA firms for corporate income tax filings.
- Act as the primary hands-on contact for external auditors and tax advisors during year-end audits.
- Ensure company operations adhere to federal, state, and local accounting/tax regulations.
3. Operational & Business Support (Liaison)
- Review vendor contracts, POs, and agreements from a financial and risk perspective.
- Act as a daily financial liaison for local banks, logistics vendors, service providers, and local business partners.
- Facilitate clear, cross-border financial communication between US operations and overseas teams.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. 1–3 years of hands-on accounting experience in the US.
- Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of US GAAP, full-cycle month-end close, and local/state tax requirements (especially California). Proficiency in QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar ERP system. CPA is a plus.
- Languages: Bilingual fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese (written and spoken) is required for cross-border collaboration.
- Attributes: Strong attention to detail, highly self-motivated, ability to work independently as an individual contributor in a fast-paced environment.
- Work Authorization: Must be based in/near Los Angeles with valid, unrestricted US work authorization.
- Dual Language Capability: Professional fluency in both English and Mandarin Chinese (written and verbal). Must possess native-level oral English skills to effectively represent the company in local US business settings and executive discussions.
