Role Overview
The Senior Database Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise-grade Oracle databases, with a strong emphasis on supporting PeopleSoft environments. This position ensures high availability, performance, and compliance of database infrastructure, and supports modernization initiatives and cloud migrations.
Candidates must hold a DOD Secret Clearance
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain Oracle databases (including versions 23ai and 26ai) for PeopleSoft applications.
Monitor system and database performance; implement tuning strategies.
Manage user roles, permissions, and security compliance (including DOD standards).
Support integrations and automate environment refreshes.
Participate in migration to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies.
Ensure compliance with federal security and audit requirements.
Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to support modernization and cloud initiatives.
Experience with Exadata and OCI is highly desirable.
Required Skills & Experience
DOD Secret Clearance
8+ years of experience in database administration and management.
Experience supporting PeopleSoft databases.
Strong knowledge of Oracle Database (versions 23ai and 26ai).
Proficiency in SQL and scripting (Shell, Python, or PowerShell) for automation.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Experience with cloud migration (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure or Azure).
Strong understanding of security compliance and audit requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
Certifications on OCI and Database are highly desirable.
Experience with Exadata.
Experience with AI-driven enhancements and chatbot integrations.
Exposure to cloud security frameworks and compliance standards.
