We are seeking a motivated and skilled Garage Door Technician to join our dynamic team! Duties
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and replace various garage door systems, including springs, cables, rollers, tracks, and openers using hand tools and power tools.
- Perform glass installation for windows or panels as needed to enhance door aesthetics and functionality.
- Conduct welding and fabrication tasks to customize or repair metal components of garage doors.
- Read blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute installation and repair procedures.
- Utilize construction site experience to safely navigate job sites, manage heavy lifting tasks, and coordinate with other tradespeople.
- Complete fixture installation, cabinet setup, frame carpentry, locksmithing, and trim carpentry work to ensure seamless door operation.
- Apply electrical experience for wiring garage door openers and related electrical components while adhering to safety standards.
- Use metal stud framing techniques for structural modifications or enhancements when necessary.
- Perform caulking and sealing to prevent leaks or drafts around installed doors or panels.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, parts used, and inspections completed.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction or remodeling projects with hands-on work involving carpentry, metal framing, or fixture installation.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics reading.
- Prior experience working on garage doors or similar mechanical systems is highly preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge related to door hanging, fabrication, electrical wiring, and lock systems.
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and efficiently while following proper safety protocols.
- Construction site experience demonstrating familiarity with safety standards and teamwork dynamics.
- Knowledge of blueprint reading and schematics for accurate project execution.
- Additional handyman experience or electrical background is a plus for versatile troubleshooting capabilities.
