Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Charge Nurse to lead and coordinate nursing care within our healthcare facility. Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate nursing staff to ensure efficient delivery of patient care.
- Oversee patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and medical documentation to maintain accurate and comprehensive records in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic or Cerner.
- Assist with complex medical procedures.
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans, including pain management, dementia care, hospice services, and infectious disease protocols.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Provide training, mentorship, and support to nursing staff on clinical best practices, ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), and emergency procedures such as airway management or basic life support.
- Participate in discharge planning, case management activities, and quality improvement initiatives aligned with NCQA standards.
Experience
- Extensive background working with diverse populations including geriatrics.
- Demonstrated expertise in medical documentation using EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology related to pain management and medication administration including injections and venipuncture.
- Prior leadership experience as a Charge Nurse or equivalent role managing nursing teams in acute care or post-acute settings such as hospice or home & community care is advantageous.
- Familiarity with ICD-10/ICD-9 coding for diagnostic evaluation and billing purposes.
- Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and sterile processing are required.
