PARC Home Care is seeking a part time/PRN Phlebotomy Technician to assist patients in their home within the Oakland County region. JOB SUMMARY
The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing venipuncture and blood sampling procedures while ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety. This role requires a compassionate individual who can effectively communicate with patients and work collaboratively within a clinical laboratory environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and blood sampling on patients, ensuring comfort and safety throughout the process.
- Collect and label specimens accurately, maintaining proper documentation for laboratory analysis.
- Monitor and record vital signs as needed, providing essential information to healthcare providers.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinical laboratory environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Assist in patient service by addressing concerns, answering questions, and providing education about the blood collection process.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure efficient workflow and optimal patient care.
- Stay updated on laboratory techniques, anatomy, physiology, and best practices in phlebotomy.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be Phlebotomy Technician certified.
- Previous experience in a hospital or clinical laboratory setting is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with laboratory techniques related to blood sampling and specimen handling is advantageous.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to effectively locate veins for venipuncture is essential.
- Strong patient care skills with an emphasis on empathy and communication are crucial for success in this role.
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
