Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Registered Nurse Weekend Supervisor to lead our nursing team during weekend shifts. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical expertise, strong leadership skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care. As Weekend Supervisor, you will oversee daily nursing operations, ensure compliance with healthcare standards, and coordinate multidisciplinary efforts to maintain high-quality resident services.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate nursing staff during weekend shifts, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of patient care.
- Oversee patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and medical documentation in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Manage medication administration, IV infusion procedures, catheter care, and other complex clinical tasks with precision and safety.
- Ensure adherence to infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and safety standards across all nursing activities.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate discharge planning, diagnostic evaluations, and treatment adjustments.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner to document patient information accurately and efficiently.
- Provide mentorship and supervision to nursing staff, fostering a positive team environment focused on continuous improvement and professional development.
Experience
- Extensive background in long-term care facilities or skilled nursing environments, including geriatrics and dementia care.
- Demonstrated supervisory or nurse management experience within a healthcare setting.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for medical documentation and patient records management.
- Knowledge of ICD-10/ICD-9 coding practices for accurate medical billing and utilization review processes.
- Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology relevant to comprehensive patient assessment.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs is advantageous.
