Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations with precision, including obstetric, gynecologic, abdominal, and vascular imaging.
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process clearly and ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Operate ultrasound equipment effectively, adjusting settings to obtain optimal images for interpretation.
- Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques to prevent infection and ensure patient safety during procedures.
- Collaborate with physicians and medical staff to interpret imaging results and provide detailed reports for diagnosis.
- Keep accurate records of procedures, images, and patient information in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Stay current with advancements in sonography techniques, maternal-fetal medicine, and anatomy knowledge to enhance diagnostic accuracy.
Requirements
- Proven experience in sonography or ultrasound technology, with a strong understanding of medical imaging principles.
- Knowledge of maternal-fetal medicine, Ob/Gyn, physiology, anatomy, and diagnostic radiology to accurately assess diverse patient needs.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and aseptic techniques essential for safe practice.
- Excellent communication skills to explain procedures clearly and provide compassionate patient care.
- Ability to operate ultrasound equipment confidently while maintaining attention to detail during image acquisition.
- Certification or licensure as an Ultrasound Technician (such as RDMS or ARDMS certification) is preferred but not mandatory; relevant training is required.
- Strong understanding of patient care protocols and the importance of maintaining confidentiality at all times.
