Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. This vital role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems across various multi family and commercial settings. As a Journeyman Electrician, you will bring your expertise to complex projects, ensuring safety, compliance, and quality standards are met at every stage. Your hands-on experience and technical knowledge will help us deliver reliable electrical solutions that power our clients’ operations and teach apprentices.
Duties
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in commercial, multifamily, and residential projects.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams to ensure accurate installation and maintenance.
- Comply with National Electrical Code (NEC) standards and safety regulations during all phases of work.
- Collaborate with construction teams on site to coordinate electrical installations with framing carpentry and other trades.
- Conduct routine inspections on apprentices work to ensure ongoing safety and functionality.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, including incident reports, inspection logs, and project documentation.
Skills
- Proven industrial electrician experience with a strong understanding of electrical systems in manufacturing or processing environments.
- Commercial electrician experience with installation of lighting, power distribution, panels, and conduit systems.
- Proficiency in reading schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings for accurate project execution.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools such as wire strippers, screwdrivers, pliers; power tools including drills and saws; as well as testing devices like ohmmeters.
- Knowledge of NEC standards for safe electrical installations across high voltage and low voltage applications.
- Experience working on construction sites with renovation projects involving framing carpentry or handyman tasks.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals related to electrical components and systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members and documenting work accurately.
