Reporting to the IT Manager, the Desktop Support Technician is responsible for maintaining essential IT hardware and business applications, including building, implementing and troubleshooting technical solutions in line with the overall APDerm IT strategy. The position will collaborate with IT teammates and the Help Desk to provide technical support across all APDerm sites while ensuring resource efficiency, optimization and security of the technology ecosystem.
Responsibilities:

Provide both on site and main office/HQ desktop support, including device provisioning/support, network equipment (firewalls, switches, access points) installation/support and technical assistance with devices associated with ISP, security, data closets, postage, pathology technology and other business functions as identified by IT management.

Responsible for day to day assistance with hardware and technical issues within the APDerm IT environment including troubleshooting and issue remediation, knowledge of relevant workflows, build, training, testing and end user access provisioning/facilitation.

Role may require daily travel between sites for hardware deployment and issue remediation.

Assist in development and implementation of new technology resources to improve business process and technical flow and efficiency.

Responsible for clear oral and written communication of task and ticket statuses, issues, process changes, software enhancement goals and objectives.
Minimum Requirements:
-
Two years of professional technical support experience or 4-year college degree in a technical or business field

Preferred technical certifications: CompTIA A+/Security/Fundamentals, CCNA, Microsoft Fundamentals or related.
Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 40 lbs (e.g., desktop computers, monitors, printers)

Ability to push or pull carts loaded with equipment

Occasional bending, kneeling, crouching, and reaching to access under-desk equipment and cabling

Ability to work in tight or confined spaces (e.g., server closets, under desks, behind cabinets)

Manual dexterity for handling small components, cables, and tools

Ability to climb stairs and/or ladders as needed

Prolonged periods of standing, walking, or sitting depending on task

Visual acuity for reading small print on labels, screens, and technical documentation

Ability to safely handle and transport equipment across office floors or between buildings

Occasional travel between worksites or office locations

Ability to work with hand and power tools for equipment installation and repair
The salary for this role will range from USD $53,225.12 to 72,226.49 per year based on full-time employment. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to years of experience, location, relevant skills, training, education, etc. Certain roles may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation and/or long-term incentives.
