Position Overview
Houston Wolves Soccer Club is seeking passionate, experienced, reliable, and professional coaches to serve as Team Head Coaches within our competitive youth soccer program.
Each position includes responsibility for two separate youth teams. The successful candidate will plan and deliver training sessions, manage both teams on game days, support individual player development, and maintain professional communication with players, parents, and club leadership.
This is a part-time, in-person coaching position requiring consistent availability during weekday evenings and on weekends throughout the soccer season.
Training Locations
Training sessions may take place at either of the following Houston Wolves Soccer Club locations:
- Britannia Soccer Park - 3606 FM 723 Road, Rosenberg, TX 77471
- Westlake Campus - 23300 Bellaire Boulevard, Richmond, TX 77406
Coaches may be assigned teams that train at one or both locations.
Key Responsibilities
Coaching and Player Development
- Plan and deliver organized, age-appropriate, and ability-appropriate training sessions.
- Follow the Houston Wolves Soccer Club curriculum, coaching methodology, and player-development philosophy.
- Create a positive, challenging, engaging, and enjoyable learning environment.
- Provide players with clear, constructive, and development-focused coaching and feedback.
- Identify individual and team development needs and adapt training sessions appropriately.
- Support player evaluations, development reviews, and individual player-development plans.
- Develop players technically, tactically, physically, socially, and psychologically.
- Promote confidence, teamwork, discipline, decision-making, accountability, and a strong work ethic.
- Encourage players while maintaining appropriate standards and expectations.
Team and Game-Day Management
- Serve as the Team Head Coach for two assigned competitive youth teams.
- Prepare both teams for league games, tournaments, and friendly matches.
- Manage team rosters, player attendance, availability, and game-day information.
- Plan game-day lineups, formations, substitutions, tactics, and in-game adjustments.
- Ensure players understand their roles and responsibilities.
- Create a positive team culture that supports player development, enjoyment, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Represent Houston Wolves Soccer Club professionally at all training sessions, games, tournaments, and club events.
- Work collaboratively with club directors and other members of the coaching staff.
Parent Communication and Team Administration
- Communicate professionally and consistently with players, parents, coaches, and club leadership.
- Provide families with relevant information regarding schedules, team expectations, and player development.
- Lead preseason or team parent meetings when required.
- Maintain accurate player attendance and development records.
- Complete required session plans, player evaluations, game reports, and club documentation within the expected timelines.
- Keep team schedules, player availability, and game-day information updated through the club’s designated communication platforms.
- Notify the appropriate club director of any player, parent, scheduling, disciplinary, or team-related concerns.
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries when communicating with players and families.
Club Responsibilities
- Attend required staff meetings, coaching education events, and professional-development opportunities.
- Assist with player evaluations and tryouts when required.
- Support occasional camps, tournaments, and other club events based on availability.
- Follow all club policies, coaching standards, safeguarding procedures, and codes of conduct.
- Contribute positively to the continued growth and development of Houston Wolves Soccer Club.
Qualifications
- Minimum of three years of soccer coaching experience, preferably within youth soccer.
- Previous experience coaching competitive youth soccer teams is strongly preferred.
- US Soccer D License or an equivalent recognized coaching qualification.
- Higher-level coaching qualifications are preferred.
- Demonstrated experience developing individual players and managing competitive teams.
- Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.
- Reliability, punctuality, and professionalism.
- Ability to create a positive, structured, and development-focused environment for young players.
- Ability to communicate professionally with parents, players, fellow coaches, and club leadership.
- Ability to work collaboratively within an established club curriculum and coaching structure.
- Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to training sessions, league games, tournaments, and club events.
- Consistent availability during weekday evenings and on weekends.
- Commitment to continued professional development.

Applicants must be able to complete all required background checks, safeguarding requirements, and league or association registration requirements before beginning the position.
Schedule and Weekly Commitment
The position includes:
- Weekday evening training sessions.
- Weekend league games and friendly matches.
- Occasional tournaments, tryouts, player evaluations, staff meetings, camps, coaching education events, and other club activities.
The exact schedule will depend on the age groups, competition level, and teams assigned.
Because each position includes two teams, applicants must have sufficient weekday evening and weekend availability to consistently meet the responsibilities of both team assignments.
Compensation
Each Team Head Coach position includes responsibility for two separate youth teams.
Compensation is paid at the following rates:
- $50 per completed training session
- $50 per completed league, tournament, or friendly game
Compensation is calculated separately for each assigned team and is based on the number of completed training sessions and games.
Canceled or weather-affected training sessions and games are not compensated unless otherwise approved by the club.
Routine session planning, parent communication, player evaluations, roster management, and team administration are expected responsibilities of the Team Head Coach position.
