Join a dynamic private dental practice as a Dental Assistant working four days a week! Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring efficient workflow and patient comfort.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic techniques to uphold infection control standards.
- Take and develop X-ray images and operate medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support front desk operations by greeting patients, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and handling medical documentation with precision.
- Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient well-being before procedures to ensure safety.
- Maintain knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy to assist effectively during procedures and communicate clearly with patients.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a private practice or clinical setting with familiarity in dental assisting techniques.
- Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with Epic or similar platforms is a plus.
- Strong understanding of infection control protocols, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to dental care.
- Ability to perform X-ray imaging accurately while adhering to safety standards; experience with medical imaging equipment like 3D scanners is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist; capable of managing patient interactions professionally and empathetically.
- Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and pediatric-specific procedures is preferred.
- Certification in chairside assisting; CPR certification is highly desirable.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques for optimal patient care.
