The Dramatic SLP is a neurodiversity-affirming private practice providing play-based, relationship-centered speech therapy throughout Central Florida. We specialize in autism, AAC, Gestalt Language Processing (GLP), apraxia, sensory processing, and strengths-based communication approaches. Our philosophy is simple: Connection over compliance.
We are seeking an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist who is passionate about comprehensive evaluations and enjoys helping families understand their child's unique communication profile.
Position Summary
This role is dedicated exclusively to speech-language evaluations. The Evaluating SLP is responsible for conducting comprehensive, strengths-based assessments, determining eligibility for services, providing meaningful recommendations, and collaborating with families to develop individualized treatment plans.
This position is ideal for clinicians who enjoy diagnostic work without maintaining an ongoing therapy caseload.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive speech-language evaluations for children and adolescents.
- Complete assessments in areas including:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder communication profiles
- Gestalt Language Processing
- AAC needs
- Expressive and receptive language
- Speech sound disorders
- Childhood Apraxia of Speech
- Social communication
- Pragmatic language
- Feeding and oral motor screening (when appropriate)
- Select and administer standardized and informal assessment measures.
- Utilize dynamic assessment and play-based evaluation techniques.
- Write thorough, timely, insurance-quality evaluation reports.
- Develop individualized treatment recommendations and goals.
- Educate families regarding evaluation results and next steps.
- Collaborate with treating clinicians to ensure a smooth transition into therapy.
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with company standards.
- Attend required team meetings and trainings.
- Follow The Dramatic SLP's policies, procedures, and clinical standards.
QualificationsRequired
- Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Active Florida SLP License
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
- Experience completing pediatric speech-language evaluations
- Strong written documentation skills
- Reliable transportation for local travel
- Passion for neurodiversity-affirming care
Preferred
- Experience with AAC evaluations
- Knowledge of Gestalt Language Processing/Natural Language Acquisition
- Experience evaluating autistic children
- Familiarity with sensory processing differences
- Knowledge of Childhood Apraxia of Speech
- Private practice experience
