JOB DESCRIPTION: Independent Facilitator / Aide
REPORTS TO: Supervising Teacher and Director of Student Services.
JOB OBJECTIVE: To assist teachers in the classroom by providing support to ensure students are able to maximize learning opportunities.
ACADEMIC YEAR: 10 months (possibly summer). Full-time 32-40 hours per week.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Classroom aide
Instructional Process:
· Demonstrates strong grasp of all academic subject matter and materials relevant to subject areas taught.
· Assists with implementing lesson plans that meet student’s individualized needs.
· Supports and assists teachers in the implementation of behavior plans and tools
· Instructs students in small groups or one-on-one as part of differentiated curriculum.
· Shares responsibility during the school day for the supervision of students in all areas of the school.
· Other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Student Services or Executive Director.
Professional Protocol:
· Adheres to the Faculty Handbook.
· Adheres to the Confidentiality Agreement.
· Upholds and enforces board policy, school rules, and regulations.
· Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with other staff members.
Professional Growth:
· Participates in staff meetings and in-service days.
· In-services staff as to learning, tools, and methodology from conferences/workshops attended.
Requirements:
Ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree and be enrolled in a teacher credential program. Experience working in special education and/or students with autism is highly preferred.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
