Job Description

ISS Substitute teachers new to Volusia County Schools require Volusia County Schools training. By applying for this vacancy, you are tentatively applying for this STAR training course.

Once you have applied for the Substitute Teacher Vacancy, you must fulfill the following requirements to be eligible to begin subbing in Volusia County Schools.

Have a fully complete application (Please reach out to the application team to determine what may be missing from your application, see contact info below.)
Interview* (You will be emailed with more information for your scheduled interview.)(Please allow 3-4 business days to receive)
Complete the STAR Training- The link will be sent to you once you have passed the Interview process. (Please allow 3-4 business days to receive)
Complete screenings required by all Volusia County School employees. (An email authorization to complete fingerprint and drug screenings will be sent to you once you have passed your STAR Training) (Please allow 3-4 business days to receive)
Complete Orientation/Safety and Security Training. (An email authorization to complete your orientation/safety and security training will be sent to you once all screenings have been received by Volusia County Schools cleared. All hiring paperwork will be completed at your scheduled orientation.) (Please allow 3-4 business days to receive)

Months: 9

Applicants who were a substitute teacher during School Year 24/25 are waived from completing the Interview Process but do require the Safety and Security Training.
