One of our clients in the government domain is seeking a Food Service Worker to prepare and cook meals according to established recipes, dietary guidelines, and USDA meal requirements in a school food service environment. This role supports students//' health, safety, and nutritional needs while maintaining high standards of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen cleanliness. The Cook works under the supervision of the building//'s Kitchen Manager and collaborates with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare and serve meals and snacks according to approved menus and dietary guidelines. Follow recipes and portion requirements while maintaining food quality and presentation. Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations. Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, food preparation areas, refrigerators, counters, and utensils. Monitor and document food temperatures, food usage, and inventory records. Assist with inventory management, including stocking, storing, and reporting low supplies. Support students with dietary restrictions and maintain records related to food allergies. Collaborate with kitchen staff and supervisors to ensure efficient meal service. Provide courteous customer service to students, staff, and visitors during meal service. Maintain communication with supervisors and parents regarding food-related concerns. Assist with additional duties as assigned, including maintaining overall cleanliness and supporting staff during breaks. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Basic verbal and written communication skills. Understanding of child nutrition, food allergies, and dietary restrictions. Familiarity with USDA nutritional and portion guidelines for children. Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations involving fractions, percentages, and ratios. Ability to maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety in a busy kitchen environment. Strong teamwork, time management, and organizational skills. Certifications Must complete First Aid and Infant CPR training as required.

Monday - Thursday 10am - 6pm Friday - 5:30am - 2:30pm
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in food preparation or institutional kitchen settings preferred, especially in childcare or educational environments.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and move kitchen supplies and equipment. Ability to stand for extended periods during food preparation and service.
Additional Requirements
Must maintain proper hygiene and sanitation standards at all times. Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays if needed. Must comply with all workplace and school safety policies.
