Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our dynamic finance team. In this vital role, you will support the accounting department by managing financial data entry, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards such as GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Your expertise will help maintain accurate financial records, facilitate smooth bookkeeping processes, and contribute to the overall financial health of the organization. Responsibilities
- Perform data entry for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger transactions using various financial software including Microsoft Business Central.
- Reconcile balance sheets and perform account analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end closing processes in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
- Manage invoice processing, payment scheduling, and vendor communications while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Support payroll management activities utilizing systems such as Easy Payroll.
- Assist with bank reconciliations, account reconciliation tasks, and audit preparations related to governmental and corporate accounting standards.
- Utilize Excel for data analysis, creating spreadsheets for budgeting, financial reporting, and variance analysis to support decision-making.
Experience
- Proven experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles within a corporate or governmental setting.
- Familiarity with accounting software such as Microsoft Business Central, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of financial concepts including debits & credits, double-entry bookkeeping, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliation.
- Experience handling confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
- Strong numeracy skills combined with attention to detail for accurate data entry and account analysis.
- Ability to work efficiently with Microsoft Office tools—especially Excel—and leverage spreadsheets for data analysis.
- Prior exposure to public accounting or non-profit accounting is a plus but not required.

Pay: $11.00 - $15.00 per hour
