We are looking for a House Manager who is compassionate, organized, dependable, and comfortable working with older adults and their families. This position combines daily home operations, resident support, community outreach, referral development, admissions support, and facility tours.
About the Role
The House Manager will help oversee the day-to-day operations of the home while serving as an important point of contact for residents, families, healthcare professionals, and community referral partners.
A major part of this role will be helping Doasis Care grow through professional relationships with hospitals, rehabilitation centers, skilled nursing facilities, discharge planners, social workers, case managers, home health agencies, hospice organizations, and other senior-care resources.
The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys both caregiving and community outreach and can confidently represent Doasis Care to prospective residents and referral partners.
Responsibilities
- Resident & Home Operations
- Help maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming home environment.
- Support residents with daily routines and activities within the scope of assigned duties and training.
- Assist with meals, activities, housekeeping, laundry, and other household needs.
- Build positive and respectful relationships with residents and families.
- Observe and report changes in residents' condition or needs to the appropriate manager.
- Assist with maintaining resident dignity, privacy, and independence.
- Follow Doasis Care policies, procedures, and applicable Maryland regulations.Community Outreach & Referral Development
- Develop professional relationships with hospitals, rehabilitation centers, nursing facilities, social workers, discharge planners, case managers, and other referral sources.
- Visit appropriate healthcare and community organizations to introduce Doasis Care.
- Distribute approved marketing materials and provide information about our services.
- Follow up with prospective residents and referral sources.
- Maintain an organized record of referrals, inquiries, contacts, and follow-up activities.
- Identify opportunities to increase awareness of Doasis Care within the community.
Admissions & Facility Tours
- Respond professionally to inquiries from prospective residents and families.
- Schedule and conduct tours of the Doasis Care home.
- Explain our services, accommodations, daily routines, activities, and general admission process.
- Provide accurate information regarding pricing and services approved by management.
- Create a warm and welcoming experience for prospective residents and their families.
- Follow up with families after tours and communicate potential admissions to the Assisted Living Manager.
- Protect the privacy and dignity of current residents during tours.
- Assist with gathering preliminary information for prospective residents.
The House Manager will support the admissions process but will not independently make clinical or admission decisions unless specifically authorized by management and permitted by applicable regulations.
What We're Looking For:
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working with seniors, in assisted living, healthcare, residential care, hospitality, or a related field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional, friendly, and welcoming personality.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with families and healthcare professionals.
- Reliable and dependable.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- Ability to travel locally for approved outreach and referral activities.
Preferred
- Experience in assisted living or senior care.
- Experience with hospital or rehabilitation discharge planning.
- Experience in admissions, marketing, sales, community outreach, or referral development.
- Certified Medication Technician (CMT).
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Assisted Living Manager experience or certification. An active Maryland Assisted Living Manager (ALM) license is a plus and may provide opportunities for additional responsibility within the facility, but it is not required for this position.
- Bilingual - Fluency in English + Spanish or French
