Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that promote early childhood development, including literacy education, math concepts, physical education, and social skills.
- Create a nurturing classroom environment that encourages exploration, independence, and positive behavior management.
- Engage children in hands-on activities that support their cognitive, emotional, and physical growth, utilizing best practices in toddler care and childhood development instruction.
- Communicate regularly with parents to share progress updates, discuss developmental milestones, and address any concerns related to child welfare or behavior management.
- Maintain detailed documentation of each child's progress through assessments aligned with standardized testing standards for early learners.
- Ensure classroom safety by adhering to health protocols such as first aid and CPR certification requirements and following mandated reporting laws for child welfare concerns.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan lessons that incorporate early intervention strategies and support children with special education needs when applicable.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with young children in a childcare or preschool setting; classroom experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of child development principles, childhood education best practices, and behavior management techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to develop engaging curriculum content across subjects including literacy education, math, physical education, and social-emotional learning.
- Excellent communication skills for effective parent communication and teamwork within the childcare environment.
- Certification in first aid and CPR required; ongoing training in childhood development or special education is a plus.
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child welfare is essential.
- Ability to manage classroom dynamics efficiently while fostering an inclusive atmosphere that supports all learners’ needs.
