Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Pediatric Dental Assistant must be certified in Xray's in Indiana to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional chairside assistance in a pediatric dental setting, ensuring a comfortable and positive experience for young patients. This role involves supporting dentists with various procedures, managing patient records, and maintaining a sterile environment. Prior experience in pediatric dentistry and familiarity with dental software systems are highly valued. The Pediatric Dental Assistant will play a vital role in promoting oral health and fostering a welcoming atmosphere for children and their families.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during a variety of pediatric dental procedures, including exams, cleanings, X-rays, and restorative treatments.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
- Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging equipment such as 3D scanners.
- Record patient information accurately in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system Open Dental while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort throughout procedures.
- Educate young patients and their guardians on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Maintain infection control standards through proper aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures.
- Manage appointment scheduling and assist with front desk duties as needed, including greeting patients and answering basic inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, including infection control and medical documentation standards specific to pediatric dentistry.
Skills
- Proficiency with EMR systems (Open Dental) for managing medical records and documentation.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding relevant to pediatric dentistry.
- Experience with chairside assisting techniques, including four-handed dentistry and medical imaging procedures like X-rays and 3D scanning.
- Familiarity with infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization processes within a dental clinic environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with children and their guardians while maintaining professionalism.
- Understanding of pediatric dental procedures involving endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry treatments.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
