Title: Seasonal Snack Bar Manager / Banquet Cook
Rate: $28.00/hour

Rumson Country Club is seeking an experienced and motivated cook to manage our busy poolside snack bar. The ideal candidate will have open availability, experience with short-order cooking, strong organizational and sanitation skills, and the ability to lead a team of four or more employees. The snack bar operates through mid-September, with the opportunity to transition into banquet shifts throughout the fall.
This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher, culinary student, or semi-retired chef looking for seasonal work, with the potential to grow into a full-time, year-round position.
- Oversee the daily operations of the poolside snack bar.
- Prepare and cook high-quality menu items in a fast-paced environment.
- Supervise, train, and support a team of 4+ seasonal employees.
- Create staff schedules and delegate daily responsibilities.
- Ensure exceptional customer service for members and guests.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all kitchen and service areas.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate ordering needs to management.
- Open and close the snack bar, including cash handling and end-of-day procedures.
- Assist with banquet food preparation and service after the snack bar season ends.
- Work collaboratively with the Food & Beverage team to ensure efficient operations and a positive guest experience.
- Previous experience in a kitchen or short-order cooking environment.
- Prior supervisory or management experience preferred.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain organized under pressure.
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
