We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Mental Health Counselor to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties
- Conduct thorough mental health assessments and clinical evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards to determine client needs and treatment plans.
- Deliver individual, group, and family therapy sessions employing techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, trauma-focused therapy, and art or dance therapy when appropriate.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies to support clients experiencing acute emotional distress or suicidal ideation, ensuring safety and stabilization.
- Develop personalized treatment plans aligned with clinical documentation standards while maintaining HIPAA compliance for patient confidentiality.
- Facilitate intake processes, including patient communication, medical terminology explanation, and comprehensive documentation within EMR/EHR systems.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate case management efforts for clients with co-occurring disorders or complex behavioral health needs.
- Engage in ongoing clinical research and data collection to enhance evidence-based practices and improve patient outcomes across outpatient and inpatient settings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
- Valid licensure or certification as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or equivalent credential in accordance with state regulations.
- Demonstrated experience working with children, youth, individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, PTSD care, addiction counseling, and grief counseling.
- Proficiency in psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, trauma-focused therapy, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and behavioral management techniques.
- Strong knowledge of ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10) for accurate diagnosis documentation; familiarity with CPT coding is a plus.
- Experience providing telehealth therapy services using secure platforms while adhering to clinical ethical guidelines and HIPAA standards.
- Excellent communication skills for client engagement and collaboration with healthcare teams; experience working in hospital or outpatient settings is advantageous.
- Ability to handle crisis situations effectively through crisis management skills; experience with crisis intervention protocols is essential.
