- 1 position at: Fellsmere Club (21 S Cypress St, Fellsmere FL 32948)
This is a part-time position that requires availability between the hours of 1 - 6 p.m. during the school year and 7:30- 6 p.m. availability during the summer. Hours may be adjusted slightly.
Primary Function:
The Teen Youth Development Professional (YDP) is responsible for the coordination and implementation of all teen programs; while working in conjunction with Teen Services Director and Program Director who will share in the responsibility of providing scheduled activities for teens in their respective program areas.
Essential Job Duties:
Leadership
- The Teen YDP provides leadership, direction, and problem solving in a mature and confident manner.
- Promotes leadership development through Teen activities such as the Keystone Club, Youth of the Year planning, and more.
- Advises Keystone Club, assisting with fundraisers and project development.
Program Development, Planning, and Implementation
- The Teen YDP plans, develops, and implements Teen programs such as Career Launch, Money Matters and Diplomas 2 Degrees, and activities that support the Teen program purpose, Youth Development Framework, and BGIRC mission.
- Oversees day-to-day activities in Teen room, providing structure and guidance.
- Compiles monthly statistical reports reflecting all activities, attendance, and participation.
- Creates and maintains weekly, daily, and monthly programming calendars.
Supervision
- The Teen YDP ensures quality improvement of Teen programs by conducting program evaluations, and annual written analysis of member needs and interest. Compile monthly statistical reports reflecting all activities, attendance, and participation.
Partnership Development
- The Teen YDP develops collaborative partnerships with public, civic groups and social agencies and community, including parents within Indian River County.
- Promote collaborative relationships between BGIRC clubs and teens.
- Coordinates and attends volunteer opportunities for Teens in surrounding community (includes some weekend and evening commitments).
Additional Responsibilities:
- Facilities management: maintain equipment (computers, games, furniture, etc.) and Teen Room.
- May oversee and participate in special club wide programs and /or events.
Skills Required:
- High School diploma or GED. AA degree preferred.
- A personal and passionate commitment to the mission of teen program
- Group leadership skills, including an understanding of team building, and group dynamics.
- Demonstrated organizational, staff, and project management abilities.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to multitask: manage multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously and ensure a high probability of success.
- Ability to motivate youth, and manage behavior problems in a mature and responsible manner.
- Demonstrated ability in working with young people, parents and community leaders.
- Willingness to do whatever it takes to ensure complete success of the teen program—e.g. strong member attendance in specific events and throughout course of programs remains consistent.
- Must be CPR and First Aid Certified (we will train).
- Some weekend and evening commitments are required.
- Must possess Florida Driver's License with clean driving record.
