Job Overview
Buka Home Care is seeking compassionate, dependable, and energetic Home Care Aides to provide non-medical personal care and companionship services to seniors and adults in the comfort of their own homes. Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility assistance.
- Provide companionship, conversation, and emotional support.
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding when necessary.
- Perform light housekeeping, laundry, and other household tasks related to client care.
- Assist with medication reminders as directed by the care plan.
- Accompany clients to appointments, errands, walks, and community activities when authorized.
- Monitor client safety and well-being and report any changes in condition to the supervisor.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided.
- Follow individualized care plans and agency policies and procedures.
- Respect client rights, privacy, dignity, and confidentiality at all times.
Experience
- Previous caregiving, home care, personal care assistant, CNA, or healthcare experience preferred.
- Experience working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or chronic illnesses is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of personal care, housekeeping, meal preparation, and client safety practices.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Demonstrated compassion, patience, reliability, and professionalism.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Completion of an approved Home Care Aide training or competency program in accordance with 42 CFR and California CDSS requirements.
- California Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) are encouraged to apply.
- Current CPR certification required.
- Must be registered or eligible for registration with the California Home Care Aide Registry.
- Must successfully pass criminal background clearance and all agency screening requirements.
- Must be physically capable of assisting clients with mobility and personal care tasks.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license preferred.
